Strawberry Cake Recipe

 150 g Flour
 125 g Sugar
 ½ Bag of Yeast
 2 Eggs
 4 fl oz Milk
 4 fl oz Oil or 100 g of melted butter (your choice)

 500 g Strawberries
 500 g Plain spreadable cheese
 200 g Soft butter
 250 g Powdered sugar

While your oven preheats to 200°C (th.7), prepare the sponge cake dough which will be the base of your cake: in a salad bowl, pour the flour, sugar, yeast, salt, eggs, milk, oil, or butter (your choice), and mix vigorously with a wooden spoon.

Once it is homogeneous and lump-free, pour your preparation into a round mould (whose walls you will have buttered to facilitate demoulding), then put it in the oven for about 30 minutes, until the tip of a knife comes out almost completely dry. Turn out the cake and let it cool at least 30 min on a wire rack.

While the cake is cooling, wash, remove the stems, and slice the strawberries. Then prepare the cream topping: in a salad bowl, first, whip the cheese with the butter, then add the powdered sugar.

When the cake is warm enough to cut without crumbling too much, remove the crust from the top, slicing (with the tip of a large knife) a disc (as even as possible) 1 cm from the top, so that the top of the cake is as flat as a pie.

Then coat all its visible sides with the butter and cheese cream (use a large spatula to make it even). Finally, place slices of strawberries all around the cake and decorate the top of the cake with a pyramid of petals (see photo).
